Barbados
I loved Barbados. Definitely one of my favorite places we stopped. We had a crazy-busy day, including stopping at Harrison's Cave for some beautiful views of stalagtites and stalagmites, the beach, a wildlife preserve complete with some wild monkeys, and snorkeling over a shipwreck and swimming with sea turtles. It was an incredible day!
When we were down in the cave I was able to see just what my Nikon D700 can do. I shot these at ISO 3200, which I think is really quite amazing. As if it were even possible to love my camera any more ...
We experienced some crazy tropical weather on Barbados. It was completely pouring as I took this picture ~ safely under an overhang, of course. No way was I going out in that! We had to wait the storm out, which thankfully didn't take long.
Then it was off for some photos at the beach!
At the wildlife preserve:
There were vines hanging everywhere!
I loved all of the architectural elements there. Beautiful.
My biggest disappointment of the trip? That I have no pictures to show of us swimming with the sea turtles. You would THINK that a photographer would double check to make sure that she had not only charged her battery to her underwater camera the night before an amazing adventure like that (which I DID), but that she would remember to then put the newly-charged battery back in the camera (which I did not.) Oooo, I was grumpy when I discovered my mistake! So you all have to use your imaginations of how truly incredible it was to be swimming right next to a giant sea turtle. Unbelievable.
Here's one of my last shots from Barbados ... being serenaded as we got back on the ship at the end of the day!
Still to come: St. Lucia, St. Kitts, and St. Martin plus some pictures of our "floating hotel". Not to mention pictures from the I Heart Faces photowalk across America that I participated in the Saturday after I got back as well as another super cute family photo shoot that I did right before my vacation. Hmm, that should keep this blog busy!

loving all the photos - I too love being serenaded out of each country and back onto the cruise ship :)
The rain storm shot is amazing, I love it!
That b&w shot of the window is very cool. And, yes, I need that camera, just for the high ISO.
Can't believe you shot those cave pics with such a high ISO!!!!!!!! Can't even see the noise!!!!
