Becca

This gorgeous girl just turned 14 yesterday. Kind of fun to give her a belated birthday present of her pics!

I have to admit, when I first opened these pictures up to edit, I got nervous. I need to preface this by saying I shoot in RAW format. I love RAW. RAW and I are friends. I feel comfortable with RAW. But somehow {still don't know how!}, my camera got switched for just these photos to jpeg format. In the middle of a FULL day of shooting. The pictures after these were magically back to RAW format. Seriously, it was so odd. And I didn't even know it until I was in the editing process. So when I saw I had a bunch of jpegs on my hand, I panicked just a bit ... until I realized that, wow ... I guess I do know what I'm doing. All of the pictures were properly exposed with correct white balance. All I had to do was add a bit of contrast and sharpening and my edits were done. A little too easy, actually :). Not that I'm planning on shooting in jpeg on purpose ~ but it was quite a relief to know that I can and all will be well :).

Love the pictures Heidi! Maybe sometime you can explain what RAW format means to those of us just figuring photography out.

What a beautiful girl :) And great color choice of the red sweater - really makes the pictures pop!
