In the News

I've known it was coming for a couple of weeks now, but it was SO EXCITING to open up my local newspaper today and see an article about my business!

For those that can't get their hands on a copy of the Lake Stevens Journal, I've typed up the article for you all to read:

Wishful Thinking Photography
makes wishes comes true

In the crisp, cold, winter air, Heidi Lawson carefully positioned her Nikon D700 in one hand while squeezing a squeaky toy in the other hand in order to make two little boys smile.

Their mom had previously tried with little success to capture a picture of the almost-two-year-old and six-month-old together and still shuddered at the remembrance of dragging a screaming toddler through her local department store when she had last attempted to get a photo taken.

But "working with Heidi was a different experience. She was able to efficiently take beautiful photos of my family on location. She knew how to work with my wiggly boys and artistically frame just the right shots", client Rachel Hoggan said.

A Lake Stevens mom of four, Lawson has spent the last eight years documenting the lives of her three rambunctious boys and one adorable baby girl. Then last summer she began to share her skills with others around her through her blog: www.wishfulthinkingphotography.blogspot.com.

At first, she named the blog “Wishful Thinking Photography” because it seemed like an impossible dream to actually start her own photography business one day.

But as the positive comments poured in and she received more and more requests from friends and family for photo sessions, she realized that maybe her dream wasn’t so impossible after all.

Now that she has officially opened her business, the company name, “Wishful Thinking Photography” more appropriately reflects the wishes of customers that she helps make come true.

Lawson can capture the curled toes of a newborn’s feet or dainty eyelashes and fleeting smiles of an older child. She knows how to help coax those genuine smiles out of reluctant teenagers and how to create family and individual portraits rich with color and detail.

One recent client said that the family photo that Heidi Lawson created for her was her “favorite Christmas present.”

Lawson specializes in family, children, teen, senior, and newborn natural-light photography on location or in a client's home.

To kick-start her business, Lawson is offering a giveaway along with grand opening specials during the entire month of February.

Check out her blog: www.wishfulthinkingphotography.blogspot.com for more information on pricing and scheduling or contact her at wishfulthinkingphotography@gmail.com.
