Life to Me
I've been reading emails from Digital Photography School for months, but finally jumped in today and joined their forum ... so I could enter this competition. (You can also read about it here.) The winner gets $2900 to spend at DigitalRev. Now that sounds fun. The theme of this month's contest is "Life". You can enter one picture a week for four weeks.
As I was trying to decide what to enter for my week one submission, I kept coming back to this picture I took of me and my daughter right after she was born. It is not the best example of my skills ... the focus is off, the exposure was too (thankfully I shot in RAW and was able to help it out a little), but the emotion it evokes in me everytime I see it is pure. I get that little lump in my throat when I look back and see just how quickly time has gone. It seems like yesterday that she was born. There is no way I could ever get her to snuggle up like this and fall asleep against me now. She's too busy roaming the house, crawling around finding things to stick in her mouth, and trying to keep up with her three brothers.
I'm so grateful I captured this moment when I did, because
life. goes. too. too. fast.

how sweet... not a good night for me to see this because I was just thinking about how fast life is going with Alex and tearing up... i need to savor it :)
What a beautiful picture, and a beautiful time to remember.
What a beautiful moment you captured :) So sweet......ahhh....
I love this image. Actually made me tear up- for two reason: 1. it's so precious. 2. I wish I had one with my boys. ;)
